Butterflies in the Tummy

This week, Tina felt the baby move!  She said it felt like little fluttering movements, very soft.  Clay says that he is not able to feel it, but thought that he might have!  :)  Next week is the next doctor appointment and they find out the sex of "Baby!!!"  The baby is about the size of a mango (doctor's analogy, not mine!) right now and this is what it should look like...
Baby, fetus at 18 weeks - BabyCenter

How your baby's growing:

Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

"Womb Service"

This was posted on Tina's FB Timeline a couple of days ago from a friend and I thought that it was adorable AND appropriate!  LOL

First Picture of the Tomerlin Family!

Last Thursday, January 31st, Clay and Tina had another sonogram of "Baby!"  They have changed the date again to August 12th as her due date because of the length of the fetus. She is doing well.

TODAY is even more exciting, though, because Clay and Tina have SHARED their joyous news on Facebook!!!  That means I get to finally share my joy of being a grandmother and it's a good thing, because I have been bubbling over with excitement for the past month and can't wait for the little one to arrive!!!  <3

The 10th Week Baby!

Embryo - 10th Week of Pregnancy - First Trimester

Baby:

The baby now enters its fetal period. The average size is approximately 27-35 mm crown to rump length (CRL), or 1.06-1.38 inches. S/he weighs in at 4 grams, or 4 paper clips. Tiny toes have formed. The eyes are largely open, but the eyelids are beginning to fuse, and will stay that way until 25-27 weeks. External genitalia is beginning to differentiate. External ears are formed, as is the upper lip. The biggest accomplishment this week is the disappearance of the tail!
Click here to hear a baby's heart beat at 10 weeks 2 days. It's beating at about 160 beats per minute (BPM).

Dad/Partner:

Is the reality of pregnancy setting in yet? Do you start worrying about things like how you'll afford groceries if she takes maternity leave? These are normal dad worries and legitimate. Make sure you sit down and rationalize your feelings prior to having the discussions with her. There are plenty of answers to your questions. Finding out now about both of your maternity/paternity leave policies will be helpful in determining what your family can handle.

First Picture of Baby

Today, we met up with all of the kids at Marie Callender's for Cliff's birthday and Tina shared her first sonogram picture of "Baby!"  She is still having morning sickness but usually only when she has to wake up early for work.  If she takes her time and wakes up slowly, she does not get sick.  That little pea in the center is "Baby!"

Baby Is at 7 Weeks!!!

The sonogram today revealed the baby to be closer to 7 weeks judging by the length of it.  Clay and Tina also got to hear it's heart beat for the first time today...so EXCITING!!!  I am so thrilled for both of them!  This changes their due date to August 20th, 2013, but I know that he/she will come in God's time.  Thank you, Lord, for your bountiful blessings!
